KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY allows students opportunity of transferring thereto from the educational institutions academically acknowledged from the ministry of education. The university doesn’t prefer transfer from non-public universities and colleges. The applicant should be approved in one of the appropriate colleges for his/ her specialty based upon the preparatory year program and according to the placement criteria and requirements in colleges.

First: General requirements of transfer to KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY:

  • Student shall be Saudi or of Saudi mother or a Mother form Saudi father.
  • Transfer must be from academically approved university by the higher education ministry plus necessity of attaching the acknowledgement letter as to the universities or the civil or external colleges.
  • Student shall not be dismissed nor stay off school from his/ her university for any reason. Consequently in case of establishing the contrary, his/ her transfer shall become null and void. Furthermore, he/she shall bring evidence of staying off school in his/ her academic file.
  • Student shall not have the right to transfer one more time in case of accepting his/ her transfer.
  • Student shall fulfill the college's requirements to which he/ she desires to transfer.
  • Student should not have studied more than 50% of the graduation requirements at his/her university before transferring to King Abdulaziz University.
  • Courses with less than C grade will not be accredited.
  • Student shall not study less than two successive semesters (basic requirement) in his/ her transferred from university.
  • Student's GPA should not be less than 3 out of 5 or 2 out 4. In case it is a yearly system, not less than 75% to be accepted whereas the lower grade will be considered if comparison needed.
  • Study period in the foundation year shall be two running semesters plus a third main semester only.
  • The transferred student must pass all the foundation year courses during three running academic years with a GPA not less than 2 out of 5.
  • Student's registration will be cancelled if he/she doesn't fulfill foundation year's criteria.
  • The student must be fully engaged in the study in case of being a regular student in addition to the necessity of submitting the approval of the work place in case of being an employee.
All the applicants shall be transferred to the foundation year program based upon the preference and the transfer to the college won't be conducted forthwith with the possibility of equivalence of any course fulfilling the equivalence requirements

Second: Transferred Student Types:

  • You are accepted as a transferred student to the foundation year program, i.e., the student will study the foundation year program and be placed in any college according to the placement requirements, consequently his/ her desires will be determined through ODUS PLUS Program during the time period determined by the university for the foundation year. Furthermore, the student isn't required to be placed in the same previous specialty.
  • You are accepted as a transferred student to the college on the consideration of passing all the foundation year course, i.e., the student will be transferred to the college on the grounds that he/she will pass all the foundation year courses with success in the determined period – three running semesters and with a GPA not less than 2 out of 5.
  • You are accepted as a Freshman transferred student, i.e., the student has no right to conduct any equivalence of any course learnt by him/her beforehand and is subject to the foundation year requirements and criteria; due to the fact that he/she fulfilled all the acceptance requirements and didn't fulfill the transfer requirements.

  • NOTE : The candidate for transfer shall comply with the specialty requirements in the college according to the specialty criteria in the college. The university isn't obliged to transfer the student to the same specialty unless he/ she meet all the specialty requirements.

Third: Obtaining a diploma after the secondary stage:

For students obtaining a graduation document (a diploma) after secondary stage will be dealt with as transferred students based on the following requirements:

  • Diploma shall be after the secondary stage
  • Diploma shall be equalized and academically approved from the higher education ministry
  • Diploma period shall not be less than three years.
  • GPA shall not be less than 4.5 out of 5 or 3.5 out of 4 or 95% and more.
  • The graduation period shall not be less than 3 years.
  • The major courses shall not be equalized.
  • The student is required to study the foundation year courses and fulfill the placement criteria in the transferred to college otherwise his/ her registration shall not be cancelled or he/she will be transferred to the nearest college that suits his/her percentage.
  • The student must be fully engaged in the study in case of being a regular student in addition to the necessity of submitting the approval of the work place in case of being an employee.

Fourth: Admission Mechanism of the transferred students to KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY

  • Student is required to have an e-mail; for registration and communication.
  • Program shall forward to the applicant the user name as well as the account number on his/ her own e-mail or mobile.
  • Student shall enter all required data on the university's website.
  • Student shall upload the application form via Scanner on the university's website in addition to the following documents:
    • A photocopy of the general certificate of secondary education.
    • A signed and stamped photocopy of graduation document for the diploma holders.
    • A signed and stamped photocopy of mark script (the academic register) from the student's university and not the academic plan containing the credit hours studied by the student till now.
    • In case that the student postponed study in last semester the student shall upload a document proof that.
    • A magnified photocopy of I.D. card.
    • If student is a non – Saudi student of a Saudi mother, he/ she shall bring a photocopy of birth certificate +mother's I.D. card +student's I.D. card.
    • Personal Photo.

In case that the uploaded documents by scanner are illegible or unavailable, the student shall be notified about through the following up page and given another opportunity for modification.The competent official shall review your documents, ascertain of their validity & legibility and finally approve thereof. The result shall appear in the following up page. In case of eligibility, the student's status in the following up page will change to eligible and consequently you shall print a reference form of a transferred student. In case the student has been transferred electronically, he/she shall contact the university in the prescribed date and location accompanying therewith the required documents in the reference form.  On contacting, student shall bring therewith all originals of the electronically attached documents for conformance and approval of the student's transfer otherwise it will be cancelled.
