Services during the university stage

Admission and registration deanship of KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY allows for male and female students a host of services to be carried out during the university stage as follows:

Withdrawal from a Semester

  • Student's GPA shouldn't be less than 2 out of 5.
  • Student should have studies two semesters at least.
  • Student will have the left to withdraw from two subsequent semesters or three separate semesters during his/ her tenure at KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY.
  • Student should submit a withdrawal application to the educational affairs department via the e-service system before start of the final exams with five weeks according to the university calendar
  • Semesters of withdrawal should be reckoned from the regular study period.
  • Checking withdrawal application execution via admission and registration deanship through the e-service system.

Postponement of a Semester

  • Student should submit the postponement of a semester application to the educational affairs department at his/ her faculty before end of the semester which comes before postponement semester; for approval of the faculty's council.
  • Student will have the left to withdraw from two subsequent semesters or three separate semesters during his/ her tenure at KING ABDULAZIZ UNIVERSITY.
  • Student's GPA shouldn't be less than 2 out of 5.
  • Checking postponement application execution via admission and registration deanship through the e-service system.

Specialization

  • Specialization should be according requirements which each faculty determines for specialization.
  • Student should submit the specialty form to the faculty according to the announced dates by the faculty.
  • Checking specialization application execution via admission & registration deanship through the e-service system.

Re-enrollment

  • Student should submit a re-enrollment application to his/ her faculty during four semesters from date of enrolment termination.
  • Faculty council should approve the student's enrolment application.
  • Student shouldn't be re-enrolled more than one time
  • Student shouldn't be re-enrolled if he/she is academically dismissed
  • Student should contact the faculty registrar; for executing his/ her application in case of university's approval.
  • Checking re-enrollment application execution through the e-service system.

Obtainment of Statement

  • Student should be enrolled in current academic year.
  • Statement should be obtained through the e-service system.
  • Student who is postponing his/ her study should contact the faculty registrar.

Study Discontinuation (External Study Students)

In case of non – payment of tuition fees for a semester during the announced time period, student should submit a withdrawal from that semester otherwise his/ her enrollment will be terminated. Furthermore, this withdrawal will be considered one of the permissible withdrawals for student.

University Dismissal

  • If student obtains three subsequent warnings because he/ she obtains GPA lower than 2 out of 5.
  • If student can't graduate in a maximum period of half the time period plus the program period
  • If student violates the university systems and regulations.

The Placement Mechanism

The placement mechanism in faculties after the foundation year.

  • The student shall be required pass all the foundation year subjects before placement in any of the university faculties with a GPA of 2 points at least.
  • The student shall be placed in any of the appropriate university faculties; on the condition that the faculties available on the track where the student is admitted shall be allocated according to the competition mechanism in terms of the GPA, the faculty accommodation capacity and the faculty criteria approved by the faculty council.
  • The application for placement shall be through the electronic service system in the prescribed time periods. The application submitted manually or in paper form shall be rejected. In case that the application isn't submitted by the student, the student shall be placed on the condition that the student's placement application will be in conformity with the placement criteria.
  • The placement process shall be carried out with the end of the second semester (or during the summer semester if available).
  • The student shall be granted a third semester; so as to complete the foundation year subjects. In case of passing the foundation year subjects, the student shall be placed in the faculty appropriate for his GPA (according to the faculty placement indicator) on the ground that there are vacant seats in the faculty.
  • The student can't transfer from a track into another (science – literary / administrative).
