The Deanship
Admission and Registration at King Abdul Aziz University is the students’
entrance way to the KAU, and it takes care of their academic and educational
affairs. The Administration of Admission and Registration launched its
activities in 1393/1394. As a pioneer experiment, the Administration started
applying the credit hours system at the Faculty of Science. After the success
of this experiment it has been applied to other colleges. The
responsibilities born by this administration increased as the numbers of
students increased, and thus it became necessary to work on the development
and strengthening of the administration and support it with competencies.
In the 13th of
Muharram, 1396, the establishment of the Deanship of Admissions and
Registration was approved, and from that date the deanship developed its
activities to meet the increased numbers of male and female students.
Since the first
semester of its establishment in 1396/1397 the deanship adopted a
computerized system to achieve full electronic control system for admission
and registration process. The Deanship of Admission and Registration has
taken ideal steps to take advantages of the cooperation with the Deanship of
Information Technology in this area where the admission of regular and external
students could be done electronically from the Internet. In addition, the
results and marks of students as well as deletion and addition of subjects
are all entered through the internet.
