Abstract
:
Collected from the atmospheric dust falling on the city of Jeddah for three of the four ten sites stretching between Alsergi limit of the city and the Red Sea coast. The tested samples of the collection sites are located on the axis corresponds to the direction of prevailing winds that blow over the city most seasons of the year. At the same time were obtained wind data from the meteorological station of the city of Jeddah. Was also the help of satellite imagery of the region during the period of study in addition to the level 1A for a composite picture obtained from the U.S. space agency NASA. Were analyzed wind data and concluded, including trends and temporal changes were carried out chemical analysis measured concentrations of 11 of the heavy elements in all samples (49) and the measured concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in some of them when available appropriate amounts in addition to tests to identify the compositions of mineral and conducted on Selected samples represent different climate conditions. The wind data and satellite imagery and the rates of fallout that the fallout is brought by western winds is that the outcome stemming from the dust raised locally may constitute an important part of the dust that was collected and will be verified upon completion of the analysis of the results of chemical analysis and mineral. The preliminary results of chemical analysis to the variations of time and significant geographical They also point out that most of the concentrations of heavy metals of significant environmental and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons than those measured in the sediments of the coastal area of the city of Jeddah.
