Abstract
:
In this paper a new method has been developed for estimating the power in maximum entropy spectral analysis. The method is based on estimating the power in the sequence domain, where the residues associated with the poles of the prediction~error filter have been used in the estimation process. The proposed method utilizes Parseval's theorem and it eliminates to a great extent the cross-correlation between the components of the signal and the corrupting noise. ! A number of examples have been studied and a sample is presented to demonstrate the potentiality of the proposed estimation process. The results obtained indicate that the performance of this power estimation technique is superior to the estimation process which is based on the residues.
