King Abdulaziz University, through its Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, has launched the “Founder’s Series”, a new initiative aimed at promoting Arabic language learning among non-native speakers. The launch aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing the global stature of the Arabic language and improving its instruction worldwide.
The Founder’s Series is a comprehensive academic project aimed at preparing learners for university-level studies in Arabic. It develops language proficiency through a modern, skills-based curriculum that covers the four core competencies: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and linguistic accuracy. The series progresses from beginner level (A) to advanced level (C), with each book covering three incremental stages.
The series is the culmination of several years of institutional effort, encompassing phases of planning, expert review, piloting, and design, ultimately resulting in a final product that aligns with contemporary academic standards.
The Founder’s Series strengthens King Abdulaziz University’s presence both locally and internationally in the field of Arabic language education for non-native speakers. It also represents a significant enhancement to educational and training content, offering promising opportunities for sustainable institutional investment in this vital domain.
Dr. Badr Al-Otaibi, Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, stated:
“We are pleased today at the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers at King Abdulaziz University to celebrate the launch of the Founder’s Series for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers. This academic endeavor embodies the vision and mission of the institute and the university in serving the Arabic language and promoting it globally.
The series is the result of collaborative institutional efforts involving a distinguished group of specialists. It has gone through rigorous stages of preparation, review, and testing, culminating in a modern educational format that addresses learners’ needs and meets the requirements of contemporary academic instruction.
The Founder’s Series aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 in its focus on preserving and promoting the Arabic language across educational and cultural fields. It marks a major step forward in delivering high-quality academic and training content that supports long-term sustainability and strengthens the university’s internal resources.
On this occasion, I extend my sincere gratitude to the university’s leadership for its continued support, and to all colleagues who contributed to the realization of this project. We pray that this series will be a valuable academic resource that serves Arabic language learners around the globe.”
